Individual sports nutrition Consulting
I take an individual approach with each athlete to ensure my recommendations fit with their current lifestyle, sport, food preferences and goals. My sports performance services include, but not limited to:
Review of health history, sport or performance goals, and current training regimen
Comprehensive assessment of current dietary practices and analysis of macronutrient and micronutrient intakes
Review and assessment of blood work or body composition (completed from outside services & depends on athlete)
Personalized recommendations to meet nutritional needs that align with performance goals and training
Eating and hydration strategies for during and post-exercise recovery
Supplements: assessment, evaluation and education regarding use of vitamin/mineral supplements and sports products/ergogenic aids
Detailed written summary with recommendations after each session
Continued support and accountability (depends on program)
I work with athletes of all ages, from high school to older adults . My clients participate in a wide variety of activities including: soccer, softball, football, hockey, rowing, karate and endurance sports of swimming, mountaineering, marathons and Ironman. I consider the unique nutritional needs for clients based on their age, specific sport and training goals.
All consultations are conducted virtually (in-person may be available if in the Madison-area). The number of session are dependent on client’s needs. Typically, high school athletes benefit from 2 sessions (setting the foundation for fueling active bodies) whereas athletes training for specific event benefit from 3 to 5 sessions to optimize fueling strategies across training periods. All services include initial assessment plus follow-up and monitoring.
TEAM NUTRITION PROGRAMMING
Team nutrition programming is only available for Madison-area based teams. Whether you need an entire program for the whole team, a subset of athletes, I deliver performance nutrition education and application tailored for marked progress. I have experience working with local teams, teaching in high school classrooms and education sessions for coaches/trainers. My team nutrition programming services include, but not limited to:
Review and assess team performance goals
Assessment of team food environment and recommendations
Tailored education of specific sport nutrition topics (based on team needs)
Activities and demonstrations to apply knowledge and skills
